Gillian Goodheir
Gillian was born in Glasgow in 1949 and was educated at Laurel Bank School. Her art lessons were under the inspired tutelage of Mary F. R. Allan and Helen Davie.
She attended Glasgow School of Art from 1963 until 1968 where she received a Diploma in Drawing and Painting and then went on to do a Post Diploma (Highly Commended) in 1968.
Gillian went on to Jordanhill College of Education from 1969 to 1970. This enabled her to teach in Glasgow for seven and a half years during which time she was unable to do any painting.
Gillian and her husband moved to Argyll in 1975, where they ran a small holding together, while she did some supply teaching at the same time. She started painting full-time in the early eighties holding both one man exhibitions and mixed shows.
