BIO
After 25 years as an engineer, I have only recently started to exhibit my work.
As a Scot, I find most of my inspiration in the Scottish landscape with its varied and rapidly changing colours and moods. I am trying to capture not so much a moment in time as the feeling of the place. This can be as simple as the typical changeability of the weather but can also be a sense of the isolation, wildness or history of the place.
My favourite subjects are how people have attempted to shape the landscape and, in turn, how nature has shaped these attempts. I paint in acrylic, oils and watercolours, each of which is used to reflect the different characteristics of the landscape in its own way.
