Richard's stunning pieces are made using a crystaline glaze. This is a technically demanding and very scientific process. After studying natural sciences at Cambridge and then engineering in Leeds, Richard began to dabble in pottery, a craft that he had learnt from his mother at an early age but it was an article on crystaline glazes that intrigued him to combine his knowledge of chemistry and the freedom  of expression by pottery.
